Here’s who we work with
To be eligible for rebates, you must work with an approved Home Renovation Savings service organization or participating contractor.
These organizations will never contact you first—you must reach out to them directly to start the process.

Spot common energy scams
Learn how to recognize tactics and protect yourself.
The scam
Using convincing ads and fake websites with similar program names, logos and branding to trick you into thinking they’re legitimate and falsely promising rebates while pressuring you into loans or payment plans.
What to do
- Always type HomeRenovationSavings.ca directly into your browser—don’t rely on ads or links.
- Confirm rebate and program details on the Home Renovation Savings website.
- Verify the sender—if you don’t recognize it, don’t click links in emails, texts or ads.
- Never respond to unsolicited emails, calls or messages about rebates.
The scam
People or companies claiming to be participating contractors when they are not.
What to do
Check if they are an approved service organization or participating contractor.
For heat pump rebates:
Complete the online form to receive a list of participating contractors, or search the Participating HVAC Contractor List†.
Solar panels and storage:
While we do not have a list of participating contractors, consider using a contractor* listed in the CanRea or SolarTO member directories.
For rebates that require a home energy assessment, you must work with an approved service organization:

The scam
Showing up at your home, claiming to represent Enbridge Gas, Save on Energy or the Home Renovation Savings program or falsely promising rebates while pressuring you into loans or payment plans.
What to do
Don’t be afraid to say no; approved service organizations and participating contractors will never show up at your door without an appointment, nor will they offer loans or payment plans.
The scam
Promoting rebates that differ from the ones listed on the Home Renovation Savings website.
What to do
Do your research; the Home Renovation Savings website will always show current, accurate rebate amounts.
The scam
Pressuring you to sign a contract and/or complete paperwork or electronic documentation on the spot.
What to do
Take your time. Let the person know that you need to verify all details and credentials against the Home Renovation Savings website.
The scam
Asking you for sensitive or personal information.
What to do
Never give out personal information like your social insurance number, account number, banking information or credit card information to someone you don’t know.
